Common questions
What can I do with Grain prices and margins in AgriSync?
See the average price UK farmers got for wheat, barley, oats and oilseed rape each year, from Defra's official figures, and a monthly trend that shows which way prices are moving. Add your own agreed or expected prices. Then AgriSync works out each field's margin in £ per hectare, from your own yield, price and costs.
What do I need to use it?
Your fields with their crops. Your expected yields and costs per hectare. Your agreed or expected prices, if you have them. It is free during early access.
Are these today's prices?
No. Defra publishes yearly averages, and a monthly price index that runs about two months behind. They show the trend, not what a buyer will pay today. Ask your merchant for a price.
Where do the prices come from?
From Defra's Agriculture in the United Kingdom (yearly average prices farmers received) and Defra's Agricultural Price Index (monthly). Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Defra doesn't endorse AgriSync.
What does the margin leave out?
Fuel, labour, machinery, rent and payments such as SFI. It's a guide for planning, not your accounts.
Who can see my prices?
Only people on your farm account. Hauliers never see your sale prices.
